Suffolk, Nassau Republican Party Chairs Pledge Endorsement for Zeldin Gubernatorial Run

LONG ISLAND, NY - Today, Suffolk County Republican Chairman Jesse Garcia and Nassau County Republican Chairman Joseph G. Cairo, Jr. announced that they will endorse Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for Governor of New York State should the four-term Congressman announce his candidacy for New York State’s highest elective office. 
 
Suffolk County Republican Party Chairman Jesse Garcia said, “The State of New York is at a crossroads. While our cost-of-living skyrockets, jobs flee the state, public safety deteriorates, and with our kids still not fully back in school, New Yorkers have been also forced to live through scandal after scandal brought on by a Governor who has lied, harassed, and bullied his way through office. If we’re going to turn his ship around, we need Lee Zeldin at the helm. Lee is a veteran, former prosecutor, family man and lifelong New Yorker who will work hard and effectively to reverse Albany’s attacks on our wallets, our safety and our freedoms.”
 
Nassau County Republican Party Chairman Joseph G. Cairo, Jr. said, “Our state was once the envy of the world. Unfortunately, the current Governor has devastated the finances of the Empire State, mishandled the Coronavirus response and stood idly by as the economy of New York floundered.  The Governor is part of the State’s one-party rule, which has produced the biggest tax hike budget ever.  Lee Zeldin is not just a man of action. He’s a man of results. Time and time again, he has delivered for Long Island, and I am confident that if Lee Zeldin decides to run for Governor, he will save our great State before more families and jobs flee the Empire State, additional businesses close, and our quality of life further erodes.”
 
Combined, the Suffolk and Nassau Republican Committees represent 21% of the New York State GOP’s gubernatorial vote.
