Meet Ray Perini

A Devoted Family Man.

Ray has been a Huntington resident for 40 years. He married Dr. Carole Traffley in June of 1976. His son was born in 1981, his daughter in 1983. Both of his children attended Huntington Public Schools. Ray is now the proud grandfather of three small children.

A New York Native Who Knows the Value of Hard Work.

Ray Perini was born in Queens, New York in July, 1947. His mother worked as a seamstress and his father was a union organizer for Local 89, of the Chefs, Cooks and Pastry Union.

Ray held his first job at age 11, delivering the Star Journal Newspaper to his neighbors. Ray attended Brooklyn Technical High School where he continued to work as a short order cook at a local diner.

Ray achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Ray, the first person in his family to graduate from college, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kansas Wesleyan University. He worked as a group underwriter at Home Life Insurance in Manhattan during the summers.

Upon graduation, Ray continued to work at Home Life to save money for law school. He attended Brooklyn Law School full time, graduating in 1973 while continuing to work at Home Life.

Ray started at Kings County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney in 1973. Between then and 1976, he tried numerous cases including high level narcotics prosecutions.

A Passion for Creating a Safer Community.

In 1976, Ray was recruited by the Suffolk County District Attorney to start the Narcotics Bureau. He remained as Chief Narcotics Prosecutor until 1989. During his tenure, he prosecuted Columbian nationals smuggling heroin and cocaine into Long Island, as well as organized crime figures and gang members involved in the distribution of cocaine and heroin into Suffolk County, and seized a Columbian trawler with 40,000 lbs of marijuana, destined for organized crime figures. While in the District Attorney's office, Ray also founded the East End Drug Task force and went to Congress to have the Long Island DEA Task Force reinstated.

Ray founded the law firm of Perini & Hoerger in 1989. The firm specializes in high level felony investigations and litigation in both state and federal courts.

The firm has handled every sort of case, including, narcotics, mega-larcenies, political corruption, RICO conspiracies, Medicaid fraud, homicides, stock and securities fraud, international smuggling rings, prescription drug frauds, police corruption, and gambling. More about Ray
