"Long Island is my home and I couldn't imagine another place I would want to live. I want to ensure that my children and our future generations have the same opportunities to succeed and raise their families here. Unfortunately, that dream is becoming significantly more difficult. I have watched as countless friends and relatives have fled Long Island due to the high cost of living and poor economic outlook. They point to more job opportunities, lower taxes and a better quality of life in other states.
"Our county is facing an economic crisis. We are approximately $1.7 billions in debt and have a deficit this year of approximately $180 million. Our legislature passed a budget that they cannot afford and can only fill in the gaps by backdoor taxes, increasing fees and surcharges and other one-shot gimmicks. We need to elect officials who can move Suffolk County in the right direction. We must act now."
